DNA
Organisation
MMIC is the source and architect of a new order. By creating an integrated platform where new works are commissioned, Events are managed, content is created, rights are registered, and exploitation is structural, we ensure that artistic creation generates lasting economic return — for composers, performers, and producers alike. Every project is not an end point but a starting point: for new boundaries, valuable content, a recording for a sync license, for a publishing stream, for a career.
We thrive by fueling a monetizing model that is set for the long tail.
At the heart of this is a deliberate collision of worlds — young emerging musicians alongside established professionals, university talent alongside conservatory graduates, amateur passion alongside seasoned excellence. This is not charity and it is not nostalgia. It is a rocket in its early launch phase: building momentum, establishing value, and creating the infrastructure for content ecosystem that rewards those who create, perform, and consume it.
Rooted in Voorburg-Leidschendam, reaching across the Netherlands, and built for international mileage — MMIC is not a regional initiative with global ambitions. It is a global model with a local launchpad.
Governance
Our governance reflects our values. All team members contribute voluntarily in this founding phase, every euro is reinvested into the mission, and at least 80% of all income flows directly into artistic execution. For every professional collaborator, we fully uphold the Fair Practice Code — because a new order is only credible if it starts by treating its own people right.
Our approach is adventurous and versatile. Through our dynamic programming, we aim to reach not only traditional audiences but also entirely new demographics. MMIC initiates events on a project basis, fostering diverse collaborations across various locations. While we develop and execute our own projects, we also make our repertoire and orchestra available for partnerships with other artists and organizations wishing to involve us in their productions. By creating different hubs, we facilitate these collaborations, making them accessible and seamless for everyone involved.

Values
Our Vision & Mission
MMIC (Mindful Music in Concert) was founded with a clear dream: to profile Voorburg-Leidschendam as a vibrant city of culture. We believe that music connects, inspires, and renews. Therefore, we take the initiative to organize musical activities that not only enrich the local cultural landscape but also offer young artists the unique opportunity to perform at the highest possible level.
Ambition & Artistic Strength
Our ambition is to establish MMIC as a leading collective, renowned for its high musical quality and inspiring projects. We are dedicated to introducing new repertoire and providing musicians with the space to develop their talents and grow together. Whether they are emerging artists or experienced professionals, our goal is to foster an environment where everyone can thrive.
We achieve this through a versatile and adventurous programming strategy that appeals to a broad audience. Furthermore, we are forward-thinking; we actively explore opportunities for distributing our format and content, enabling our partners to utilize our valuable productions within their own media networks. What truly sets us apart is the combination of our team’s years of experience and our innovative spirit. We distinguish ourselves by focusing on special projects where young musicians, amateurs, and professionals come together to grow within artistically high-quality productions. Every project is built upon a well-considered theme where cultural and social aspects converge naturally.
Social Impact: Learning from One Another:
For MMIC, music is more than just performance; it is a learning process. We create an environment where musicians learn from and with each other. Young amateur musicians, often university students, gain the unique chance to play alongside conservatory students — the professional musicians of the future. Conversely, for these conservatory students, it offers a wonderful opportunity to gain leadership experience as group leaders or concertmasters.
By connecting classical concerts with the popular and relatable theme of mindfulness, we break down barriers. We demonstrate that classical music can be accessible to a wider public without ever compromising on musical quality. Specifically, we focus on engaging younger audiences, a demographic that typically finds it difficult to connect with traditional concert halls. With MMIC, we lower that threshold and enrich the experience for all.
Growth Plan & Long-Term Vision:
Our journey began with the organization’s founding in August 2024, followed by our first sold-out concert in November 2024 — a World Freedom Day tribute that confirmed both public demand and artistic vision. In the period from 2024 to 2027, our focus is on scaling up: we aim to expand our events and grow the orchestra into a healthy, strong entity.
We realize this with the support of the Municipality of Voorburg-Leidschendam, various funds, sponsors, and intensive collaborations with professional organizations throughout the Netherlands. This allows us to make our objectives accessible to the largest possible audience. Our long-term goal is clear: MMIC aims to become a fixed, indispensable cultural value within the musical life of Voorburg-Leidschendam and the broader Netherlands.
